Images from Amy... Coming Soon to Beaverton

Well my last post on this blog was a tearful 'goodbye' to Sacramento, California.  And this post is a cheerful 'hello' to Beaverton, Oregon.  After a lot of thought and prayer, I have decided to re-open the doors of my photography business in our new home... AFTER the holidays.  This is going to give me some time to re-organize my business a little to kick things off right without stressing me out over the next couple of months.  I'm also going through a website overhaul and am having a designer re-build it for me which is proving to be a fun process!  In the meantime, I am keeping up my shooting skills up on a handful of families just because I enjoy it so much!  And what family is better to photograph than my sister-in-law's?

It was pretty easy to shoot kids that I know this well, but aren't yet jaded by my camera (like my own kids).  I knew any jokes about farting and boogers were sure to get a giggle out of them... and because I know their parents I felt pretty confident that I wouldn't offend them with said jokes.

I also know that their son is about as active as they come and would need to take a break to run it out!  But he totally surprised me with the length of time I got out of him... more than most four-year olds!

We shot in a local park that has a historical estate on it called "Jenkins Estate".  It's about five minutes from my house and has absolutely the most amazing nooks and crannies for shooting.  It definitely won't be the last time I shoot there.  It's such an amazing change to have all this lush greenery all around!  It's definitely not like shooting around the golden fields of the Sacramento Valley!  It made me thankful that I have a camera that handles high ISO's well!

I'm looking forward to some more photographic adventures around the Portland area!
