More than cancer | Sacramento Family Photographer

This is a post that is near and dear to my heart.  If you know me at all, you know that I hold a lot of disdain towards cancer.  I have had way too many family members battle it, including my mother-in-law who passed away last year and my own mother who just began her fight last month.  This is why I donate photo sessions to families in the midst of their fight.  I want them to hold onto the pictures of their loved ones and be reminded of who they are fighting for.  And... I want people to know that they are more than cancer.

So today I got to meet this fantastic woman.  She is a mother, a wife, an English teacher (please don't grade me on my sentences/grammar), and a triathlete.  And she is one of those people that glows with beauty inside and out.  And it probably doesn't hurt that the talented Michele and Melissa from "All Dolled Up" donated their time to doll her up before our session!

And this beautiful woman married a pretty amazing man, who just happens to be Canadian just like me!  Yup... it's a small world folks!  He's from Calgary, home of my aunt and uncle AND of the Calgary Stampede!  Whoo whoo!

And two amazing people just happened to create two very sweet little boys!  Their sons are in second and third grade and are such polite and well-behaved little dudes.

The battle ahead of them is big and includes more surgery (after the multiple she's already endured) and her third round of chemotherapy.  But it's abundantly obvious they have a huge team of family and friends supporting them, which is so wonderful to see.  And I want them to know that I am now one more friend that they can call on at any time.  You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Special thanks to my two friends (you know who you are) who donated a piece of photo jewelery and large wall portrait to this family to constantly remind this mom who she is fighting for.

What a gorgeous family and session - you can see the love shining through their eyes! What a blessing for you to offer them this session Amy, although I know you are abundantly blessed to be able to help them in this way.
